The Endowment Fund of Country Club Christian Church is a permanent and perpetual fund maintained and used for the benefit of Country Club Christian Church and its programs. The purpose of this fund is to ensure that Country Club Christian Church can continue to fulfill and expand its mission and that the physical facilities of the Church continue to be maintained. Donations and bequests to the Church (other than pledges and other donations specified for the day-to-day operation of the Church) are deposited into the Endowment Fund. The Endowment Fund is governed by a trust document and administered by a Board of Trustees elected by the congregation.
Each year, an amount equal to five percent of the previous year's value of the unrestricted funds in the Endowment Fund is available for distribution. One-third of that amount is allocated to the Outreach Council, and the remaining two-thirds may be distributed by the Board of Trustees.
In addition to the unrestricted funds in the Endowment Fund, there are a number of funds that have been designated by the donor for a specific use. The Board of Trustees distributes these funds in accordance with the wishes of the donors.
The Board of Trustees generally allocates the available funds to pay (i) start-up costs of new and innovative church programs, such as children's and youth programs, and (ii) for improvements to and capital maintenance of our physical facilities not covered in the operating budget. Recent capital projects funded with endowment funds include the George B. Gordon prayer room, improvements to the sound system, improvements to the south entrance to the sanctuary, the replacement of the boilers and the installation of an alarm system.
